3rd FunComPath Consortium Meeting in Madrid
May 2, 2017
The 3rd Annual FunComPath Consortium Meeting took place at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (USM) in Madrid, Spain from April 26 - 28, 2017. This time, Jesús Pla was our host (WP 5 Protective yeasts).
After enjoying traditional Basque cuisine in the evening, we met the next day at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid to present latest results and progress of the different work packages (WP 1-5). In a very constructive atmosphere, we discussed promising new aspects of Candida albicans’ ability to colonize the human host gained by diverse in vitro and in vivo models of the five different laboratories. Furthermore, the role of probiotic bacteria and yeast as well as important fungal regulators for the shift from commensalism to pathogenicity was intensively debated.
The next & last consortium meeting will take place in Paris in spring 2018.
